SUMMARY: This is professional financial work under the direction of the Assistant Director of Finance and Director of Finance. An individual in this class performs advanced and complex accounting, investment, or auditing work. Contacts are with County financial employees to obtain or exchange information, or with financial representatives of County-funded agencies about external accounting reporting requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS: BS degree in Accounting or related field and considerable experience in governmental accounting, auditing, and data processing accounting applications. Certified Public Accountant certificate preferred. (A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Expert knowledge of accounting in the public sector. Skill in preparing financial statements and applying data processing systems to governmental accounting and reporting. Ability to maintain records for audit purposes and assist with the work of independent auditors and bond counsel. SALARY AND BENEFITS: This is an exempt Classified Service Position in Grade 13, with an annual salary range of $47,561 - $90,380 and complete County benefits package including life and health insurance, paid leave, and pension.
