Full-Time position, Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Responsibilities include planning, coordinating and directing all functions to ensure the efficient management of the Health Information Management Department (HIM). The HIM is responsible for the proper maintenance and supervision for all medical records created for each patient. The quality and completeness of each patient medical record is directly related to the quality of patient care that is delivered and the level of reimbursement received.
Qualified individuals must have a Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university in the field of Health Information Management with subsequent hours sufficient to obtain and maintain registration as a Registered Health Information Administrator, and a minimum of five years of experience in a Health Information Management Department in a hospital with outpatient clinics. Individuals must possess considerable knowledge in the area of health information systems design and operation, quality improvement, transcription, computer system applications, and other activities related to health information services. We also require a minimum of five years of experience in hospital compliance procedures with Joint Commission rules and regulations. Individuals must posses supervisory ability, as well as the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
