Responsibilities:
- Provide training and support for people served in all activities of daily living.
- Act as an advocate to protect the rights and interests of the people served.
- Assist and attend to personal care needs including hygiene, bathroom assistance medical and clothing.
- Provide opportunities for learning and development of new skills.
- Participate in carrying out support plans based on each person’s needs and goals.
- Organize and participate in group and individual activities that enhance independence in activities of daily living and well-being.
- Promote and ensure ongoing health and safety of people served.
- Complete and maintain programmatic documentation as required.
- Attend all required trainings and meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a culturally diverse population of individuals, co-workers, care providers, family, community members and others.
- Ability to read and write clear, concise and accurate reports.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds as needed.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required.
- Current First Aid, CPR and Crisis Intervention certificates or be able to obtain these within thirty (30) days of hire.
- Pass criminal background check (CORI).
